From Mexico to London, Betoko is Making it ‘Rain Again’

Here is an artist that deserves your attention – check out Betoko (Beto Cohen), who is gaining popularity with his musical masterpieces. His sound spans the genres of tech, deep house, and minimal. However he plays it, it’s soulful, captivating, sometimes dark, yet always dance-inducing!

Originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, Cohen grew up playing the guitar and drums in various bands, while his mother was an actress and singer. By the time he was 20, he had set up his own studio, production company and modeling agency in Guadalajara. Betoko then moved to London to further pursue his interest in electronic music.

The now London-based producer’s music has received plenty of support by fans and DJs alike. M.A.N.D.Y, Gregor Tresher, Martinez, Steve Lawler, Dubfire, Sven Vath, and Marco Carola, are just a few who have showcased his musical ingenuity in their own sets. His tracks have also been featured on the TV series CSI, as well as several advertising campaigns. Nowadays, Cohen is the head of two of his own labels, OKO Recordings (a tech-house label) and Chill Mint (where everything is released on vinyl), while touring around the world and continuously producing on-the-go.

We just love his funky, melodic, deep house sound and can’t get enough! An interesting fact – he does the vocals on his own tracks too. Indeed a talented músicon!

Betoko is set to release an album, and several remixes later this summer [2013]…so stay tuned! For more information on Betoko and upcoming tour dates, follow his Facebook page, Twitter, and website.
